My name is Hafiz. I live and work in Malaysia, a multi-racial country that has many wonders in it. I started as a social event and gig photographer based in Kuala Lumpur. A graduate of Computer Science.
I remember the first time I hold an SLR camera. That time I'm still studying at a college at Gombak. That was my friend's camera, a Canon T50, an old skool camera. I didn't know how to use it, but my friend is generous enough that he let me borrow it for one week. He taught me a little about the camera, how to insert film, how to adjust aperture and shutter speed etc. Me and my friend have one little similar hobby, music... We go to gigs a lot until we get really tired and slept at a bus stop.
After a week holding a borrowed SLR, I became more interested about taking pictures. And that time, I decided to buy a second hand SLR for my own use and to explore this cruel world of photography.. :D I bought a Canon EOS 300. That is my first SLR ever. Then, I became more crazy about this photography, I bought another camera, but not SLR, but a rangefinder, Canonet QL17. but somehow, I don't have talent in rangefinder, so I decided to sold it for RM250. Not long after that, I sold my Canon EOS 300 and bought a Canon EOS 50E. Why am I talking about this gear? am I gearheads? sigh....
After I got the EOS 50E, I'm more serious in taking pictures. Mostly I shoot gigs around Kuala Lumpur and about everywhere in Malaysia. Not many people know about my history, but well... who wants to know anyway...
As time goes by, now I'm here to represent myself as an Social Event and Wedding Photographer. I like the atmosphere on the event and wedding, it somehow give me the soothing feeling...
And my film SLR EOS 50E is still with me and going strong...
